Preventing Obesity Related Diseases

Dean Ornish MD is one of the internationally recognized nutrition and medical experts (link) whose work I have studied, and will continue to reference. Here is a very short video by Dr. Dean Ornish from a presentation he made at a TED conference about the world wide obesity trend and what can be done about it.

In this video, Dr. Ornish talks about the consequences of obesity related diseases and how to prevent and in fact reverse them. He talks about the real world success he and his colleagues have had combating obesity related disease with nutrition and lifestyle changes – not drugs or surgical intervention. Notice, he states they have found an Asian diet works for preventing and reversing obesity and its related diseases. Dr. Ornish chairs the food advisory boards of several major food conglomerates and is helping them design healthier meals.
